When choosing high quality early childhood education, it is important to use your eyes and ears to determine whether the early childhood education center or home-based provider is a good place for your child. Take a tour of the center or home, see the room where your child will be and pay close attention to how the staff interacts with the children. Here are some suggested questions to ask the providers:

• Is the center or home-based provider registered with the Commonwealth of PA?
• Do the providers have experience and training in the education and care of young children?
• Does the provider participate in Keystone STARS?
• Are they nationally accredited?
