Healthy York Network

The Healthy York Network (HYN) is a community effort to address the growing needs and concerns of people who are uninsured or underinsured. The network is made up of health care providers and community service agencies who are combining ideas and energy towards improving care to those they serve.

Individuals are enrolled in HYN and then are assigned to a primary care physician who coordinates health care. HYN members also can access low-cost prescriptions through the Healthy Community Pharmacy. HYN initially was funded by a three-year federal grant and is now being supported by the community.

United Way Executive Director Robert J. Woods serves on the Steering Committee for HYN. Several United Way partner agencies are involved in enrolling individuals in the program and providing direct services. United Way is financially supporting HYN by providing a grant to Family First Health, a United Way partner agency, to support a caseworker position.
